What should we wear to our family or sibling newborn session?
It is highly recommended that for family or sibling portraits you come dressed in like colours or tones, preferably neutral tones as they compliment well with the neutral family backdrop showcased in my portfolio. Neutral outfits will look beautiful printed and displayed on any wall in your home for years to come even if you change up your decor.
Neutral colour tones would be colours such as white, grey, black, tans, beiges, if you prefer colour that is fine too but I would suggest soft colours and ensuring that everyone coordinates in like tones.
Avoiding busy and bold colourful tops that do not coordinate so that your focus is brought to your family and not the shirts that you are wearing.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When should I book my newborn session?
A.It is recommended that newborn sessions get booked 30-90 days ahead of time to ensure availability. I book all newborn sessions one week or so following the due date or c-section date. For the most part this booking method works great however if baby comes 2 weeks or more earlier or is not born as session date is approaching we can adjust as needed based on availability. I promise I will fit you in somewhere.
What should I expect during the newborn session?
A.During your newborn session you will be greeted at the studio entrance. We will begin your session with family & sibling session poses (if included in your session) and then move into baby only poses. I start with white on white poses on the poser, swaddled in a bucket and incorporate colours and touches of your preference as you notice things while being in the studio. (There is a lot of stuff around). Once I feel we have enough content we will end your session.
What happens if my newborn doesn't cooperate?
A.Most newborns don't have any issue with cooperating. The odd time we run into a super fussy or gassy baby having a bad day and I never continue to push those babies to perform. If I make a few attempts and it is not working out we will reschedule the session for a day or two following where there is availability when baby is hopefully in better spirits. My main goal is ensuring we have beautiful portraits at the end. No reason to stress a baby out if they are not having a good day and you will not lose out on the beautiful photos that you hired me for. I can promise you that!
Can family & siblings hangout for the entire session?
A.If you think your children are capable of waiting for the entire time patiently and calmly enough that we can pose your baby and get your desires met from your session they can for sure stay. However, most families decide that once family images are complete kiddos leave with a grandparent or parent while the rest of the baby only images are completed. We want to ensure that you get the most out of what you want from your shoot!
Certain ages are more patient than others but children ages 2-5 tend to want to run around the studio playing and touching everything and it can be really disruptive to the peaceful environment needed for posing and getting the shots we need of baby safely in the props. It can take up to an hour or more and that's a long time for tots to sit around patient and quiet, keep that in mind when making your decision. There is a small waiting area with two chairs. So not a big space.
Can I take pictures with my cell phone during the session?
A.Absolutely! I love behind the scenes shots! If you wish to take behind the scenes shots or videos of your little one during their session please make sure to share the love and tag my facebook page or instagram if you share them on social media! I'd love to see them too!
How long will it take to get my images?
A.You will get your selection gallery approximately 10-14 business days from the time of your session. Once you choose your images and submit your choices final editing will take place. The entire process can take up to 4-6 weeks. If buying your entire digital gallery please allow extra time to accomodate. All turnaround times are estimated and not guaranteed. However every effort to be prompt will be made.
